The rooms were tastefully decorated. The bed was comfy. I liked the bath in the bathroom and the heavy curtains ensured a good sleep.

The general area looked very nice, plenty for kids to do, shopping good also. Our experience was below our expectations due to our hotel stay, I'm sure we would have a better image if the hotel was up to standard. Great bus services, the pier was beautiful

I went just at the start of the Easter break, and it was nice and quiet, I imagine it being a popular summer resort. Good facilities with plenty of eateries. Travelling around Southend was okay, gets busy during rush-hour. Great long walks along the esplanade and the pier. A lot of the shops were closed during close-season.

I lived in Southend for many years, this was a visit to see family and attend a family gathering. The town (I will never call it a city) is a shadow of its former self. I wouldn't go to Southend unless I had a specific reason, it just isn't as welcoming as it used to be and the high street is dead.
In the summer, short break with young children who want no more than the beach and this place would be ok. There are some decent restaurants but stay out of the town centre for those.

Going around visiting places. Eating out.
Going around visiting places. Eating out. Great taxi service. Hotel was not so good. Not disabled friendly. Fell in bathroom not built for anyone who is disabled.. Hurt myself quite bad. Screaming in agony. Apart from that. Will not be staying in this hotel again

The seafront apartment is a perfect location for those who want to stay close to the beach. It is very spacious, clean, and beautifully maintained. I could not have asked for a better place to spend my New Year eve, bearing in mind that it was booked on a short notice of 2 hours before we reached there. Yet we were provided with all basic necessities like towel, coffee, milk and a clean tidy apartment. Overall, we would like to thank the host for the wonderful stay and making us feel right at home with a cozy atmosphere.
A clean, comfortable, well-run hotel in an old building dating back to the dawn of Southend as a seaside resort in the 1790s with a view over the estuary and the pier. Our hostesses were friendly & helpful and you will get a decent breakfast. Comfy beds, too. It's about a 6-min walk to Southend Central station and 12 to Southend Victoria. And if you are at all interested in Anglo-Saxon history, you might want to visit the town museum to see the Prittlewell Prince burial finds.
A very good hotel and room for the budget, as always in my experience with Wetherspoon hotels. Huge room with a good range of facilities and excellent bathroom. Very clean and quiet despite the central location (opposite Central railway station and 1 minute from bus station - useful, as I was travelling a lot by public transport). Convenient checkout procedure.
Perfect location for the town's central shops and seafront. Attractive apartment that matched the photos and completed by a wonderful range of modern facilities throughout. Excellent Wi-Fi. The hosts are very pleasant and helpful. No penny-pinching corners cut here and it's clear the owner has put great thought into what the perfect stay should be.
Location next to the pier. Views from the hotel of the south end on sea pier. Breakfast was good with the pier views. Great to stay with kids as near to all the fun activities. I had an issue with my family room. Staff were proactive in sorting it out and gave me a breakfast voucher to make up for the issue.
10 out of 10 the apartment was the best we have ever stayed in immaculate and very spacious would stay here again over a hotel or guest house location was spot on would recommend friends or family to stay here and Lisa sorted our parking out aswell which was very good much appreciated Lisa
I only spent one night here but I can say it is one of the best hotels in the Southend area - and I have stayed at most of them!
They had vegan options on the dinner menu and room service, so after a long day at work it was all very easy. Great bathtub, comfy bed etc etc...
Lovely welcome place and Diane on reception was really lovely and welcome Diane is an asset to the hotel. Breakfast was lovely with plenty of choice. Breakfast was over looking the sea and pier which was great.
Good no fuss hotel. Bookings elsewhere were exceptionally overpriced so this gave an economical solution. Good location in nice area with parking, walking distance to town centre, seafront and Westcliff
It was easy to find. The rooms were clean. Facilities were ok if a little dated. Area was fairly quiet and close to shops and seafront. Very impressed with the shower and water always hot
