The mattress is comfortable and it’s nice refreshing to sleep with a blanket again. The owner gave me his own scooter to move around (so I dropped him at work in the morning). Shows there welcoming hospitality again :) So if you really wanna be part in a local family that’s your place to go!

Paul and his staff are wonderful hosts who took really good care of us. he organized a boat trip to the 17 Islands and also provided us with a simple, but tasty dinner. The rooms are clean, aircon works well, and there is plenty of privacy if you want it but also opportunity to chat to the other travelers staying here. The garden is also cute!

This is not just a homestay like any other. Jeff, the owner, is very passionate about bringing the culture of Flores closer to his guests. He is very caring, brings together all his guests for dinner and is happy to tell amazing stories about the island and its people. On top of that, he offers a daily sunrise hike through the rice fields nearby which you should absolutely do - they‘re stunning. Just make sure to bring closed shoes with you since the paths can be slippery.

Boasting a bar and views of city, Escape Bajo is a recently renovated guest house situated in Labuan Bajo, 500 metres from Wae Rana Beach. Hostel was very new and calming with the seaview. You can enjoy beautiful sunset in the evening. One of the cleanest hostel I’ve ever been. If you’re looking for quite, clean and new hostel, this is the place for you! Also felt safe as solo women traveller. Plus staff were very nice and helpful.

La Geiro Villa Labuan Bajo is a recently renovated homestay in Labuan Bajo, where guests can make the most of its garden and shared lounge. Great place to stay if you want to get a little bit out of town. The property was very clean and brand new mattress and pillows. Great shower pressure. They have scooters on the property to rent at a good price. Very friendly staff.

Featuring barbecue facilities, shared lounge and views of sea, ORA KOMODO HOME STAY is situated in Komodo, 1.9 km from Pink Beach. Easily one of the most rich experiences we have had on our travels. We enjoyed spending time with jecky’s family, eating delicious home cooked meals, seeing Komodos (of which there are many behind the village), trekking in the national park, swimming with mantas, hiking Padar…the list goes on! Even just sitting on the balcony and watching the fishing boats or the resident dugong play with a sea turtle is a great way to pass the time. Jecky is a great host and has great English. You can arrange/discuss all your travels and activities with him via WhatsApp prior. And his wife is a great cook! This is a unique opportunity you will be lucky to have. It’s a homestay (not some bland hotel experience) so come ready for adventure.
